Old News

"Old News "
cast acrylic monotype on painted board (framed)
14" x 11"

I am donating this monotype to WORKS/San José for their annual benefit auction. If you'd like to help WORKS realize their dream of moving to a new location, please come bid on a piece of art during the auction.

I made this monotype on a piece of antique newspaper. It is created using soft pastels, and acrylic paints. It is mounted on a painted canvas board. I embellished the ornate frame a little by adding some paint to support the antique feel of the image.

Auction details below.

biennale

I am so thrilled and honored to say that I have been selected to participate in the sixth edition of the Florence Biennale in Florence, Italy. It will take place December 1-9, 2007 in the historical Fortezza da Basso. In 2001 The United Nations recognized the Florence Biennale as an official partner in the program "Dialogue Among Nations". The artists of the Biennale, despite their differences of language and faith, found a common language in art to communicate their cultural values, illustrating Kofi Annan's statement: "Art opens new doors for learning, understanding, and peace among people and nations".

Show dates:
December 1-9, 2007
